Without active exhaust bypass, you'll get that rattle when trying to squeeze exhaust through a pair of blades/valves with a "quarter sized" hole in the center when closed, and when the blades are at different positions in the open/closing cycle. Plus it eliminated that god awful rattle due to exhaust resonance when you change the mufflers or even midpipes. The exhaust tone was louder in that rpm range while applying less than part throttle. The MFER-1 was immediately noticeable from off idle to around 3000rpm when normal driving, in all modes. Granted this is on a 392, i can't say for sure on a hellcat. I can see how the track mode would make it seem like the exhaust valve is fully open because of how the throttle sensivity and transmission feedback feels to the driver. Thats just an example, not sure what percentages are exact. So if you're at part throttle in sport mode, it would open for example 50%, versus if you were in track mode at part throttle it would open say 70%. It effects the percentage opening based off throttle position. My charger is a 2019 392 model, and regardless of what the interwebs says, track mode doesn't keep the valve open fully (atleast not on the 2019 from what i've found). Since the Active exhaust is based on Throttle position and being in auto/eco, sport, or track modes, this can effect how the car sounds especially under 3k rpm and part throttle. 4 x 4' inch Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamp Turbo Coupler Intake Piping TBOLT (265727517316) nm (215) - Feedback left by buyer nm (215). The biggest difference in sound from daily driving was when I added the MFER-1 active exhaust bypass. One of my favorite sounding exhaust setups is with long tubes (ARH or Kooks) with factory exhaust. **Borla XR1 40944 is 3" in/out, 16" case and body is 4.5" x roughly 8", its the sportsman not the multicore like the ATAK** Borla uses a CFF based packing which is a roving strand and resistant to blowout from temperature as well as the corrosive nature of exhaust.Įither way, depending on the loudness after the catless mids, I still want to swap out my Vibrant 1142 and install a pair of Borla XR1 40944 which i've used in the past on other vehicles and always like the way they sound. I'm not sure if vibrant uses something like Powertex or Advantex CFF (continuous filament fiber). Vibrant's 1103 Street Power muffler (3"in/out) is 5"x9" oval with a 15" long case. Plus all of Vibrant resonators and mufflers are 304 SS. Plus the case size of say the 1142 is only like 9.75" length and oval being 6.5" x 4.75". Its basically in between a 1794 and their street power muffler, and supposedly tightly/densely packed to eliminate any "rifling" (card in spoke) sound.
